Dian - In English
Dian is a rock band from Oulu, northern Finland, originally formed at 2001 in the woods right next to Russian border. Dian’s musical essence is a mixture of heavier cross-over rock and funky grooves. Due to each band members' individual musical tastes, influences come from several different directions, which can be heard also in the band’s tight and tasteful playing.
During the 10-year career, Dian has published several demos, singles and promotional recordings. The band has always liked to work on their own, in their own rehearsal studio environment. In addition to the most recent album, also the majority of their past recordings have been self recorded. Despite the DIY mentality, the band has also worked with some professional producers. Dian's fift promotional single Here & Now (2008) was recorded together with Jonas Olsson and their recent promotional single In The Name Of Love (2009) was procuded and recorded by another Finnish producer Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Apocalyptica, The 69Eyes etc).
In The Name Of Love was also Dian’s first music video, recorded in the band’s rehearsal place with 20 mobile phone cameras. The video happened to two local music video competitions and ended up being viewed also in the national television. Another video competition, arranged by the national public service broadcasting company, rewarded the band with two days studio time in the huge legendary M1 studio, in Helsinki Finland. Dian has also gained positive reviews in the Finnish music media and success in several competitions for unsigned bands.
At the moment, Dian is focused on doing gigs and proudly promoting their new album. If you like what you hear, click yourself to Facebook and Like us to stay tuned for further news.
